Booties and Bows

Today I’m sharing a gorgeous baby shower cake .  I love the sophisticated color palette that the mom-to-be chose for the cake – soft blues, muted green, and brown.

Fondant gets a bad rap sometimes, but I really believe you can’t beat its flawless appearance.

My first attempt at sculpting baby booties…I think they turned out well!

This cake was made using 6” and 8” tiers.  It was filled with buttercream, and covered with homemade marshmallow fondant.  The dots and stripes were cut from fondant, and the booties were sculpted with gum paste. The bow is made of a combination of gum paste and fondant.  This cake served approximately 30 guests.
