The Cake Lady's story...
My name is Lindsey, and I'm the owner of H.O.T. Rock Cakes. About 8 years ago I bought myself a piping bag and a decorating tip and embarked on an incredible cake decorating journey. I am 100% self-taught. Everything I know about cake decorating, I learned from television, books, internet, and good, old-fashioned trial and error. As my experience and skills have increased, so has my clientel, and I have been fortunate enough to finally open my very own bakery! My only assistant is my wonderfully talented husband, the Tool Man. Our talents complement each other perfectly. He handles the structural components of the designs, and I'm in charge of taste and looks. Together we have been able to create some amazing cakes, and I am so thankful for his help!
What's in a Name?
You may be wondering what the name "H.O.T. Rock" has to do with cakes and baking. Well, if you follow my other blog, you may have figured it out. H.O.T. Rock is actually an acronym that stands for "House on the Rock," a phrase I took from the Bible in Matthew 7. More than just a name, H.O.T. Rock is a lifestyle that the Tool Man and I have embraced for our family. Our aim is to build our home, raise our family, even conduct our business, on the Rock who is Jesus Christ. He's the foundation of all that we do.
