What little girl doesn’t love cheerleaders?
For her sixth birthday, Cassie requested a Saintsation cake. After playing around with a couple of ideas in my head, I decided to look through some of the shaped character pans that I’ve inherited from friends and family. Maybe one of those pans could be altered a bit to work for Cassie’s cake. As it turned out, I found a clown pan that I thought might work. The clown was waving with one hand, and in his other hand he held a bouquet of balloons. He was also wearing a pointed hat. Hmmm… How could this work for me?
I’ve got it! I’ll change the balloons to a pompom and the hat to a ponytail. Instead of a goofy clown suit, I’ll adorn my girl with a fleur-de-lis tank top. Perfect!
I was quite surprised with how easy this cake came together for me, and I loved the results. It was just as I had envisioned it. So cute and sweet. Just like little Cassie!
This was a two-layer white cake, filled with chocolate icing and decorated completely with buttercream. It served approximately 30.
