“Year” Out!

It’s no secret that I absolutely hate the New York Yankees, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.  And a couple of weeks ago I had to make a birthday cake for my father-in-law. He’s a big Yankees fan, so I decided to go with baseball theme for his cake.

No baseball cake would be complete without some peanuts and popcorn, or at least fondant versions of them.  I hand-painted the details on the popcorn, peanuts, and bat using icing color.

This cake was made with 6” and 8” rounds and served 30.  It was filled and iced with buttercream and the decorations were handmade from fondant.
